The new building on Strehlener Straße, through its precise positioning, forms a modern, vibrant, and self-contained urban quarter. From the varying edges of the railway line and surrounding streets, a slightly fanned-out basic form emerges that follows the shape of the lot and gives the building a clear identity. Approaching from the main station, visitors are greeted by a striking high point that marks the beginning of the ensemble and transitions into a second half of the building, shaped in height to follow the basic form.
Along Uhlandstraße, the six-story structure defines the street space and simultaneously marks the second high point on the east side of the site. Toward the tower, the building is deliberately stepped to ensure optimal lighting and ventilation of the inner courtyard while creating high-quality outdoor spaces in the form of green terraces. The stepped sequence from tall to lower structures allows for attractive views and vistas both from the street perspective and from the railway line.
The ensemble thus positions itself as a confident urban prelude to the infill development along the railway embankment and to the further development of the
adjacent Südvorstadt Ost to the south.
